Welcome

When you get started with homeschooling it's sometimes a difficult journey and not everyone you know will support you. Even fewer people will have the information that you need to get started and going in a way that's going to achieve your educational, social, and emotional goals.

We at the LGBTQ Homeschooling Association know that homeschooling is more than just an educational journey. It's often a lifeline for students who were drowning in the regular school system. When our founder Nicole Pauling began unschooling it was because that felt like the only way to save her child's life. It can be that big of a deal and she felt like there was no one to help guide her through it. When she went to the local homeschool association they told her that it was ok that her child was trans but that it could never be mentioned or brought up and sexuality could never be discussed if it wasn't straight.

She never wanted another family to have to navigate homeschooling alone and so she decided to create her own association. She met with local and affirming pastors, secular homeschooling groups, and started to attend conferences to find out as much as possible that needed to be shared.

If you have suggestions or questions this is a work of love in progress! Please message us and we are always open to new ideas and ways to improve.
